You Are Closer Than You Think…

Do you feel that everything in life has gone against you!  That after you have given it your best life has given you back lemons?  I want to encourage you to not give up but allow God’s word and His Spirit to renew your hope and dreams.

I read where Mel Fisher, the great treasure hunter searched for 16 years before he found anything.  During that time he lost a son and daughter in law to the sea, lived in a leaky old boat, couldn’t pay his crew, and had to dodge bill collectors.  But one day his dream came true and he found what he was looking for and they are still pulling treasure out after 30 years.  It would have been so easy for Mel to give up and give in but he had developed a stick- to- it – ness that carried him through the tough times.

Any dream worth obtaining will have its enemies; enemies within and without will try to discourage you.  When your inner doubts arise or people tell you it will never happen you must draw from the inner resources within you as a child of God.  Remember who you are.  You are a child of God and are closer to your dream than you may realize.

Just a few days before David became King he suffered one of his greatest set backs.  His enemies came in while he was fighting elsewhere and took his family and all his possessions.  Not only had he but all those who fought with him suffered the same loss.  The men were so discouraged that they cried until there were no more tears.  The men spoke of stoning David, but David encouraged himself in the Lord.  Sometimes we must encourage ourselves and remember that God is with us and for us to accomplish the dream He has given.  Don’t let despair grip your heart and mind.

There was an experiment conducted using rats.  The first rat was put into a large tub of water with high sides and in complete darkness; it swam for about 3 minutes before giving up.  A second rat was put into the same conditions with one exception, a ray of light was allowed to shine in the room; the rat swam for 36 hours or 700X as long as the first one.   You have been sowing, believing, praying and doing what you can; it is your time, your due season is near.  You will reap if you do not give up.  Allow hope to revive in your heart today. The entrance of God’s word brings light.  Go back to the promises of God’s word and allow it to renew your faith and hope.  You are closer than you think!
